Happy 2025!…Maybe? Do you already find yourself saying that 2025 is off to a rough start? Are you feeling a little anxious about what’s to come? Are you exhausted by the lessons you were forced to learn in 2024?
If you relate to any of this…you’re not alone.
You might be trying to stay positive but find yourself struggling. Or, you might even go as far as talking yourself out of your 2025 goals. I’ve been there and it’s not fun. However, I’m here to hold your hand and tell you that this doesn’t have to be how you start the new year.
Keep reading for some gentle, Soulsome reminders to help you make the right mindset shifts for 2025.
Be Proud of What You Learned
Think about which struggles you not only encountered but also overcame. Even if you’re not fully out of the woods yet, just look at how far you’ve come one day at a time. I’m proud of you…even if you don’t feel proud of yourself.
All Wins Deserve to be Celebrated
On that note, my next gentle reminder for you is that all of your wins deserve to be celebrated, no matter how big or small.
If you got a huge promotion, amazing! I love that for you!!
You survived and made it to the other side? Also, amazing! I love that for you!!
You stopped biting your nails for a week? Amazing! I love that for you too!
Life is hard enough as it is…give yourself credit where it’s due. You have made it through every one of your hard days and surpassed so many obstacles in your life…and you’re continuing to do it! You’re amazing and you deserve to acknowledge that for yourself.
Every Step You Took in 2024 Brought You Here
No matter how clumsy, clunky, and difficult your year was, everything brought you to this moment–at the start of a new year with so much beautiful potential. It’s time to be grateful for all of those steps…even the missteps. You wouldn’t be who you are today without them.
You’re the Author of Your Life
I say this all the time. You get to live your life how you want to. You can wake up tomorrow and decide to change your life. It all starts with an idea and a desire. Don’t let the fear of the future or your regrets from the past hold you back from writing your next chapter. Make that career change. Download (or delete) that dating app. Adopt that cat. Try out that new yoga class. Whatever calls to you, answer it. You are on the verge of something so special.
I like to think that if you have such a huge dream that’s calling to you, it’s because that dream was given to you for a reason. Whether you are religious, believe in fate, or believe in the universe itself as a higher power, your dream is yours for a reason. There is a future version of you that’s showing you that you have what it takes.
So set those 2025 resolutions! Let yourself envision more for yourself and remember that you have the power to achieve it.
Intention is Everything
Expanding on the ideas of setting 2025 resolutions, I challenge you to take a different approach to setting your resolutions. Instead of randomly writing down whatever comes to mind, lead with intention. Think about why you chose your specific resolutions. Why do they matter to you?
Listen, things don’t always go according to plan, but that doesn’t mean your goals are out of reach. This might just mean taking a different path…and if this happens to be the case, you’ll find you will be able to continue working towards your 2025 goals with much more drive and passion when you remember your why.
What Do All of These Reminders Have in Common?
Apart from giving you a mental wellness boost to start the year off on a positive note, these reminders are all rooted in self-love: the most important love you could ever receive.
Ebbs and flows are a natural part of life…just remember not to give up. Step outside of the box you’re in that makes you feel like you’re stuck or like you can’t change anything. The sky is the limit and I think we have the power to live our most soul-fulfilling lives when we choose to see the boundless potential around us. Keep these reminders close and you’ll be able to start the year with strong mental wellness.
Which reminder resonated with you the most? Be sure to share these with someone else who might need them.
Until Next Time, Keep Living Soulsomely!
