Tell your pits to cool down, because we are about to dive into how to keep them fresh all summer long.
If you have not yet read the part 1 of this post, click here to read it first. I am so excited to share this post since I actually discovered a couple of new products for myself during my research.
As a woman, smelling good is a priority. It's not just about how we look, it's about our aroma, our feminine scent. Trust me, I know how much B.O. can affect our confidence. So, let's get started, shall we.
Deodorant Supplement
Let's begin with my absolute #1 product that I cannot live without and that has been a complete game changer. It is the deodorant supplement It Just Works. Take one or two (max) capsules a day to eliminate body odor from within. Made from all natural ingredients and super effective. Some consumers claim that they do not even need to apply physical deodorant after taking this supplement. I actually heard about this product on Instagram and though I was a little skeptical at first, I tried it anyways. Now, I have been on their monthly subscription since 2022. This product literally cuts my body odor by 50%, if not more. You should know that I am not affiliated with this brand at all; I am just a huge fan, and it would be selfish of me if I did not share this awesome product with you. You're welcome!
2. Waxing
If you have never waxed your pits, what are you waiting for? In case you haven't noticed, shaving your underarm does not leave the best results. The hair growth is quick, which means you might shave today and already be stubby within 24 hours. Shaving every day will leave your skin irritated and even after a fresh shave, you can still see the dark spots where the hair is just beneath the skin. Waxing is so much better than shaving because the results last far longer. Instead of shaving daily, you may only need to wax once a month. Your pits will also look brighter and cleaner because you can't see the underlying hair follicle. After about 3 wax sessions, your hair will grow back a lot thinner. It will hurt a little the first and second time, but that's because your hair is so thick from shaving. It is worth dealing with 2 seconds of pain and having a beautiful underarm. You could visit your local wax boutique or just wax from home with an affordable wax kit.
3. Deodorant
The most obvious product in this post is, of course, deodorant. With all the deodorants I have tried, I can tell you which one will work for heavy duty body odor. It has taken me a long time, as in years, to find the perfect deodorant that was cruelty free, vegan, and clean. After trying over ten brands that meet my standards, many of them couldn't keep up with my b.o. and/or my skin would have a negative reaction. Until recently, I have finally discovered the brand that works for me. It is unlike any other because it is not a deodorant stick, or a roll-on, or a spray. It's a cream. Have you ever tried the brand Lume? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. This brand even has a full body deodorant cream and deodorant wipes. Honestly, my search is over, and my prayers have been answered. I am blown away at how effective this deodorant is. It is available in different scents, and none scented; I'm currently using the subtle scent of Peony Rose.
4. Probiotic Toner
We've all heard of taking probiotics for our gut health, but have you heard of probiotics for your underarms? Much of life is a balancing act and your underarms are no exception. Bella Skin Beauty has a one-of-a-kind Probiotic Underarm Toner spray that is available in different refreshing scents. The way to use it is to spray it on your pits, wipe it off, apply your desired deodorant, and that's it. Easy! It serves as an extra layer of defense against underarm odor, it is very affordable, eco-friendly, cruelty free, vegan, and non-toxic. Do I have to say more? I don't think so. Note: do not use this when you have a cut or rash on your underarm, such as a razor burn, because it will sting. To also prevent irritation, remember to wipe off the product as it is not meant to "let dry" or sit on the skin.
5. Exfoliate
Exfoliating is an important step in our skincare routine. When was the last time you exfoliated your underarm? If you have not exfoliated your underarm, you are allowing for deodorant buildup and dead skin cells to just live there. Exfoliating your pits before waxing is a must so that the wax can have a clean contact with the skin and hair. Regardless if you are waxing or not, exfoliating your pits at least twice a week should become part of your cleansing habits.
6. Serum
Now for those who have dark underarms, using a brightening and hydrating serum can help. Vitamin C serum is meant to brighten your skin and hyaluronic acid is meant to hydrate your skin. If you are already using these skincare ingredients on your face, then just add it to your underarm as well.
7. Oil
Continuing our skincare loving ingredients for our underarms, applying a lightweight oil is also beneficial for your pits, especially after waxing. After waxing, your skin is far too sensitive for deodorant or anything scented. It needs healing. Using a lightweight oil and adding some aloe vera will help heal and sooth your underarm. However, sometimes your pits do get dry and adding some skin loving oil will help the area look fresh.
8. Mask
I know my skincare lovers understand the importance of using a facial mask on a weekly basis. Whether it be a hydrating mask, a charcoal mask, or a acidic mask, it is a small luxury to keeps our skin looking and feeling its best. So yes, treating your underarm with a mask is also a thing. A charcoal mask for your underarms will be helpful in pulling out impurities, which will reduce odor causing bacteria. A hydrating mask will help sooth and hydrate and an acidic mask will help to brighten.
9. Deodorant Wipes
Summer temperatures can cause us to sweat far more than usual, especially in our underarm area. Sometimes, you just need a wipe to feel fresh again, right? Well, Lume deodorant actually has underarm wipes to deodorize and refresh. These wipes would be great for your purse, or your car, or even the guest bathroom for visitors.
10. Underarm Pads
Speaking of sweating, how can we keep our clothes fresh as well? No one enjoys wearing a button-down blouse with a wet underarm area or even a visible underarm stain. Protect your clothes with underarm pads. They stick on easily to the folded area and absorbs the excess sweat to prevent sweat from transferring onto your clothes. At the end of the day, just remove and dispose.
With these 10 tips, your underarms should really transform into a better version of themselves. Goodbye dry, dark, flakey, stinky pits! Hello bright, fresh, happy pits!
